The family vineyard is situated in Verrieres and Ambleville, two of the very best villages in Grande Champagne, 1st Cru of Cognac. These villages are a real "paradise" to create very elegant, powerful but smooth Cognacs, and are part of a special area in South West of Grande Champagne that some connoisseurs name The Golden Belt of the Cognac...

The Voyer family works, distils and blends their eau de vie for 5 generations. Indeed, Paul and Emma, the grandparents of Guy Chauchet Voyer, our current distiller since 50 years, started to write our story in the 1870's. This gives us a real experience and a deep knowledge in the production of Cognac. Through the world, our passion for quality produce is recognized among the most prestigious restaurants & retailers. The fact, Francois Voyer are winegrowers is important, especially when you know that more than 98% of the Cognac sold in the world comes from large negociants. They see their first responsibility is to run their family vineyard, and to take care of the entire chain of the production, from planting and growing the vineyard, through harvest, distillation, ageing in their cellars to the bottling and sales. Today the Cognac produced in their estate is not sufficient any more, and they do buy sometimes batches of Cognac, but only from a few suppliers, who share with them the same philosophy : the passion of quality.

They distil themselves all the wine they produce, to create the very special taste of François Voyer Cognacs. Actually the distillation is THE key point of the whole process of making Cognac. So they really want to control it

They use only one still pot to distil their Cognacs, which allows them to take great care of each step of the distillation.

They distil both the wine and the dregs (the natural sediments of the fermentation). This method is difficult to achieve, but gives softer, smoother and tastier Cognacs.

Using this method, their aim is to produce very tasty and "authentic" Cognacs.

Francois Voyer age their Cognacs only in barrels made out of oak from the Limousine forest. This type of oak is one, which gives more tannin and enables the Cognacs to "breathe" more intensively in the barrels, and that way to evolve better during the ageing (actually the major process of the ageing is the action of oxygen on the alcohol of the Cognac).
