Pronounced “Och’n Tosh’n”, meaning “corner of the field” in Scots Gaelic, the Auchentoshan distillery would have been just that many years ago. Nowadays the distillery has been swallowed up by the suburbs of Glasgow. “Glasgows Whisky” is the only distillery in Scotland to carry out full time triple distillation, this results in a lighter spirit. The distillery is owned by Morrison Bowmore who in turn are owned by Japanese drinks giants Suntory.
