We were so delighted to be awarded the honour of world Single Outlet Retailer of the Year by Icons of Whisky. The judges commented that the store "offers the customer a true whiskey experience with exclusive products, launches, tasting events and distillery tours. Special attention was brought to Celtic Whiskey’s commitment to building strong ties with wineries around the world to source the best barrels for maturation of their Celtic Cask collection, which it only releases once whiskey has reached its full potential."

The awards took place in the grand Connaught Rooms in London on the 17th of March. We are so thankful to all our customers, supporters and all lovers of whisk(e)y everywhere!

It seems that St Patrick blessed many with the luck of the Irish as Eclinville, Tullamore DEW, Teeling Whiskey Co. and Mitchell & Son all winning coveted awards on the night!  Special congratulations must go to the legendary Irish whiskey mastermind, John Teeling, who was inducted into the Whisky Hall of Fame. He was joined by Father of Japanese whisky, Koichi Inatomi.

Irish Whiskey Brand Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Tullamore DEW's John Quinn. In March 2011, John Quinn was appointed the first ever Global Brand Ambassador for Tullamore D.E.W. John is responsible for spreading the word and improving product knowledge about Tullamore D.E.W. and working closely with key bar staff, brand managers and consumers. Prior to this, John has been an integral part of the Irish whiskey industry for the duration of his professional life.

Cogratulations to Echlinville Distillery who was awarded 'Best Flavoured Irish Whiskey' for their 'Feckin Irish Whiskey'. This whiskey is a blend of malt and grain, distilled in age-old traditional copper pot stills and coffey stills.

The title of World’s Best Single Pot Still was awarded to Mitchell & Son's Green Spot Château Léoville Barton. Initially matured in traditional sherry and bourbon casks, Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton was then finished in Bordeaux wine casks, adding an exciting new dimension to this Single Pot Still Irish whiskey already renowned for its excellent quality.

The revival of distilling to Dublin's Liberties was rewarded appropriately with Teeling Whiskey Distillery being named Visitor Attraction of the Year. Incredible considering the company opened it's doors less than 1 year ago. We're sure anyone who has visited the distillery will comment on the modern, yet  polished decor and welcoming atmosphere which exists. Well worth a trip if you are ever around the city centre!
