Midleton Cask 1997 31689 Single Pot Still Irish

70 cl

This was our fifth exclusive bottling of Midleton whiskey and is a superb single cask release featuring heavier pot still content than previous releases. Cask 31689 was a first fill bourbon barrel that was filled on the 11th April 1997 and yielded just 270 bottles of whiskey at 46%. This is one of our favourite single casks from Midleton and sadly stock are running low, so it will not be around for much longer!

Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green
Nose Lively aromas of Seville oranges, marshmallow, mixed citrus peel, beeswax and lemon curd with a hint of gingerbread and fruit cake.
Palate Full bodied and richly textured with a great combination of spice and fruit flavours. Characters of dried orange peel, apricots, fresh lemons, cloves, ginger and allspice all make an appearance on a slowly evolving palate. The finish is highly complex and multi-layered with great pot still character coming through right to the end.
