Strathisla

Strathisla is a very picturesque distillery that could claim to be the longest continuously open distillery in Scotland. It was original named Milltown (later Milton) and still has its original water wheel along with some classically styled pagoda malting roofs. Chivas Brothers (now part of Pernod Ricard) have owned the distillery since 1950 and decided to name it Strathisla after a previous brand made at the Milton Distillery. Most of the production at Strathisla goes into Chivas blends such as Chiva Regal and Royal Salute although their 12 year old bottling is getting easier to find and there are also some very good independent bottlings around. Strathisla has four stills and produces a maximum of 2,400,000 litres per year.
