Situated on the north shore of Loch Indaal, Bruichladdich was purpose built in 1881 and has had more owners over the years than I have had hot dinners. In 2000 it was bought over by a consortium headed by Mark Reynier and brought it back to life together with ex-Bowmore distiller Jim McEwan. The company was sold to Remy Cointeau in 2012. Bruichladdich makes one of the softest and lightly peated malts on the island of Islay.
