Founded in 1910, “Matsui Shuzou” is located in the Tottori prefecture/jurisdiction of northwest of Kyoto on the shore of the Sea of Japan. Fresh ground water from Tottori prefecture’s wilderness is a key component of the distillation of the Kurayoshi whiskies. Kurayoshi literally translates into “city of water and green”. This award winning brand produces a high quality range of tasty, well balanced and mellow whisky. TheTottori prefecture is known for its soft mineral water and abundance of nature. Over 14% of the total land area of the prefecture is designated as Natural Park.
