Wine Dinner at Marco Pierre White's, Donnybrook


Château la Gaffelière, Saint-Emilion in conjunction with Celtic Whiskey Shop & Wines on the Green will host a fabulous wine dinner on Wednesday 9th October at 7.30pm in Marco Pierre White, Donnybrook.

Situated south of Saint-Emilion with its unique silhouette, Château La Gaffelière evokes a great wine, a 1st Great Growth since the beginning of St Emilion’s classification in 1959. The vine in question has been present on the lands of Château La Gaffelière since Gallo-Roman times.

Since 2000, they have started an important replanting program whereby their vines are able to age peacefully until a median of 35 years. The vineyard is comprised of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc which are handpicked into small crates and put straight into cold storage (8c) for one night

Tuna Carpaccio, Shallot Mousse, Smoked Kalamata Olives, Cherry Tomato Confit, Fresh Basil, Quail Egg, Olive Oil paired with Dame Gaffelière Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2016.


MAIN COURSE
Irish Fillet Steak, with seared Foie Gras Torchon, Fondant Potato, Beurre a'la Château Chapelle d"Alienor Red Wine Jus. Paired with Château La Gaffelière Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2008 & 2012.


DESSERT
A Selection of Irish Cheeses served with Local Monkstown Honey Chateau Chapelle d"Alienor Poached Pear, Quince Jelly, Candied Walnuts paired with Château La Gaffelière, Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru 1982.
