Distilling in America can trace its roots back to the 1600s when Europeans landed with a longing to set up farms on newly (ahem) acquired fertile land. Corn and sugar cane were new crops to many of these settlers and it was not long before they began plantations for commercial purposes. Sometimes a bumper harvest would come along and farmers were left with an excess. Some settlers from Scotland, Ireland and Wales brought with them a knowledge of distilling and they quickly adapted their old r...

As this cocktail is made using Tullamore Dew Phoenix, its name is in reference to 'Flight of the Phoenix'   Negroni Variation. Ever since Lillet Rosé came on the market the trio of the bright and bitter campari and sweet grapefruit liqueur have been great friends. Named as a direct reference to Lewis Morris Pease, a clergyman who established New York's infamous Five Points District. This provided work and for the area's predominantly Irish community in the mid 1800's.   This is a stirred, agave based cocktail originally inspired by the La Rosita cocktail, which is a perfect tequila manhattan with Campari. Originally, the cacao was just subbed in for Campari and it worked really well. The addition of amaro and Irish whiskey is what gives this cocktail com...
