Tomintoul

Founded by two whisky traders in 1964. Tomintoul was one of a handful of distilleries built at the time to provide fillings for popular blends. It was previously owned by JBB but was since sold to Angus Dundee Distillers plc in 2002. Hopefully this will mean we will see more releases in the future. The distillery occasionally produces a heavily peated malt which is usually named Ballantruan. It has fours stills and produces 3,300,000 litres of alcohol per year.
