Glentauchers

Built during the whisky boom in 1898, Glentauchers was fortunate to survive the following slump and has continued on in a sleepy fashion until now. I say sleepy because it has happily trundled along despite being rarely seen in single malt form. The only semi-official bottlings have been via Gordon and Macphail, most of which have been very good. The vast bulk of Glentauchers goes into blends such as Teachers and Ballantines. There are six pot stills and it makes around 4,500,000L of alcohol per year.
