Mannochmore is a relatively new distillery having been founded in 1971. It is perhaps most famous for a black whisky made at the distillery in the 1990s named Loch Dhu. Since discontinued, it was not a great whisky but is highly sought after by collectors. The standard Mannochmore malt is a decent drop and is worth seeking out. The distillery shares some buildings and equipment with nearby Glenlossie distillery and has six pot stills. Annual production is as high as 3,200,000 and it is owned by Diageo.
