Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green | |
Nose | complex, red fruit such as strawberry, wild berriessome flowers but once is open tobacco, slate and balsamic aromas are coming with different fruit such as figs and plums; some hints of creamy caramel; ageing results in cinnamon and licorice. |
Palate | Sweet polished tannins, perfectly balanced with minerals and jammy fruity flavours. Smooth and lingering finish. |
Colour | Deep cherry red a little bit evolved because of the age. |

2005 | Robert Parker 93 Points 'From relatively young vines planted in a challenging terroir yielding less than a tonne of fruit per acre. Dark ruby/ purple in colour, the wine gives off lovely aromas of cedar, cinnamon, kirsch, blueberry and liquorice. This is followed by a full-bodied wine with ripe, plummy, balsamic and blue fruit flavours of superb intensity, lots of depth, and a long pure finish' |
