Translanzas

Top Spanish winemaker Ana Martin makes probably the best wine in the Cigales region from Tempranillo vines that were planted in 1945. These vines are grown in the traditional 'goblet' shape and produce just under one kilo of grapes per vine stock. Vines grow on a gentle slope facing the southeast , in a valley between two adjoining hills and at a height of about 800m above sealevel. An abundance of boulders and rocks reflect the sunlight onto the lower parts of the vines onto the vines and also give off heat on cooler, overcast days.
