Kozlovic Teran
A dry and medium bodied red from the region of Istria in Croatia. Teran is a local variety similar to Italy's refosco, the vineyards are approximatetly 28 years old and are planted on a south facing slope with good drainage. Winemaker's notes: Teran 2015 displays a deep purple colour with clearly visible legs. On the nose it shows medium of what is a very youthful aromatic profile delivering plenty of red fruit notes such as raspberry, strawberry, cherries and spicy notes with black pepper and dried herbs dominating. Quite rich and ripe. With time some gentle layers of oak, caramel appear giving it extra dimension and complexity. Very dry on the palate with medium acidity and lovely texture. It is medium-full bodied with firm texture and, typically for Teran, lower tannin content. Teran can be a wild beast but this one really seems to be tamed and civilised.
