Syrah/Shiraz
Syrah originated in the area surrounding the Northern Rhone valley in France and is though to have been produced by a crossing of two obscure local grape varieties. It is capable of producing great, full bodied wines with occasional flavours of chocolate, blackberry, cherry or black pepper.
