Syrah/Shiraz

Syrah originated in the area surrounding the Northern Rhone valley in France and is though to have been produced by a crossing of two obscure local grape varieties. It is capable of producing great, full bodied wines with occasional flavours of chocolate, blackberry, cherry or black pepper. Syrah can be named Shiraz in some countries such as Australia and South Africa.
