Jack Ryan Whiskey

The Ryan family have run the Beggars Bush pub on Haddington Road Dublin since 1913. Thomas Ryan and then his son Jack, seasoned and experienced publicans both, sourced select Dublin whiskey, aging it in ex-sherry and ex-port casks, before bottling their own “Ryan’s Malt”. It became a serious local favourite for decades in the Beggars Bush area and their other licensed premises (The 51, The Quay House, The Coach and Horses). The current generation of Ryans, through Eunan and Conor, has gone back into the whiskey business, with 2013 – the centenary of the Ryan family tenure in the Beggars Bush – as the stepping-off point. The tradition was revived through the careful selection and expert craftmanship of Jack Ryan Beggars Bush 12 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, matured in ex-bourbon casks. The initial batch was bottled as Limited Editions – Cask Strength and 46% - with lots of malt and tropical fruit flavour characters. This premium Irish whiskey has been really well received and garnered the 2014 Irish Whiskey Award for Single Malts 12 Years or younger. Buoyed by success, the Ryan Whiskey Company plans larger annual limited batches.
