Domaine Les Aurelles

Although only started in 1994, these producers are working with vines up to 70 years old, all 4 wines are recommended in 'Wine Behind the Label' and the estate has been given a 5 star rating (exceptional) by Robert Parker. This is actually a neighbouring estate to Bébian but they produce a very different style of wine. Owner Basile Saint-Germain learned his trade at infamous Chateau Latour before purchasing his vineyards in asorted pebbly Villefranchian & basaltic parcels around Nizas and Caux with the idea of reflecting the terroir through wines with purity of fruit and no wood influence. He also works very closely with nature and organic farming methods.
