Writers Tears Red Head Single Malt
70cl
/

A single malt matured in Oloroso sherry butts. On the nose, expect notes of orange peel, dried fruits and rich sherry sweetness. The palate brings gentle spice, raisins and a touch of nuttiness, balanced by soft, creamy oak. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering dried fruit and a subtle citrus lift.

Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green
Conclusion
Our first impressions were very high on this. In our opinion this offers almost unbeatable price vs quality. Whilst it isn't at all sherry dominated there are some nice notes of lighter dried fruits which compliment the delicate maltiness perfectly. Any more and the whiskey would be in danger of being swamped with syrupy fruitiness. Highly recommended.
Taste
Refreshing, smooth and medium bodied. A nice mix of malted grains, tropical fruits and ginger spice. Great balance remaining spritely and fresh to the finish. The sherry notes are subtle but the quality is obvious. Occasional dried fruit notes pop through (think sultanas and dried pineapple rather than raisins and figs).
Nose
Fresh and lively with notes of tropical fruits, melon, red apples, boiled sweets, delicate spices and juicy sultanas.
Colour
Deep gold.
