Ardmore

Ardmore is a large distillery that was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher. It is still linked to the Teachers brand and has always been the main malt selected for the blend. The distillery is situated in the south east of the Highlands on the edge of the Grampian mountains and it currently has four spirit stills and four wash stills. A relatively highly peated style of malt is used and it is well worth seeking out as a single malt. The distillery is currently owned by Jim Beam Brands, who in turn are now owned by Suntory. Hopefully we will see a few more special bottlings from this under-appreciated distillery.
