Balvenie
Founded in 1892 in Dufftown using second hand stills from Lagavulin and Glen Albyn distilleries. These days Balvenie is owned by William Grant and sons and there are now 5 wash stills and 6 spirit stills. It retains the original floor maltings which supply both Balvenie and the neighbouring Glenfiddich distillery. The house style is smooth and malty with fruit cake and nut flavours common in older expressions.
