FAQs
Four Roses does not carry a minimum age statement on the standard Yellow Label, which is typically aged between five and seven years. Four Roses Small Batch is aged from six to seven years; Small Batch Select uses six to seven year old stock from specific recipe combinations. The Single Barrel is typically seven to nine years old. The limited annual releases, including the Small Batch and Single Barrel Limited Editions, often contain whiskies exceeding fifteen to twenty years of age.
No. Four Roses uses two mash bills, both of which are rye based rather than wheat based. Mash Bill B contains 35% rye, one of the highest rye proportions in the bourbon industry, producing a bold, spicy, full flavoured profile. Mash Bill E contains 20% rye for a lighter, more fruit and floral driven character. The combination of these two mash bills with five proprietary yeast strains allows Four Roses to produce ten distinct bourbon recipes, which are then blended or selected as single barrels.
