Palmela

Palmela first gained attention for its off dry white wines from Muscat grapes havested early , however now focuses on producing dry red and whit table wines. It was promoted to DOC from IPR status. Principal grape varieties of the Palmela region include Alfrocheiro, Arinto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Castelao, Fernao Pires, Muscat of Alexandria, Periquita, Rabo de Ovelha, Roupeiro, Tamarez and Tinta Amarela.
