Scapa
Scapa is one of two distilleries on Orkney and was founded in 1885. The distillery is relatively small and was last expanded in the 1950s although some rebuilding was done in before it opened recently in 2004. Before then it had been mothballed for some time with only sporadic production thanks to a team of distillers from Highland Park firing up Scapa once a year. The distillery has a modified Lomond still, which has had the rectifier plates removed, along with a regular shaped pot still. Production is around 1,000,000 litres per year and it is currently owend by Pernod Ricard.
