Aultmore

This Speyside distillery was founded in 1896 but immediately hit problems in both demand and then scarcity of barley supplies during WW1. It was not until 1923 that the distillery became operational on a permanent basis and this coincided with it being bought by Dewars. Since then almost the entire production has been reserve for Dewars whiskies. The Diageo Flora and Fauna 12 year old expression occasionally appears as do a handful of independent bottlings and the official 12 year old release. Today is has a large capacity of 29 million litres a year and runs four pot stills. It is owned by Bacardi (owners of Dewars).
