The Journey of the 'Father of Japanese Whisky' Masataka Taketsuru

Follow the footsteps of Masataka Taketsuru on his journey that shaped Japanese Whisky! The night will begin with a taste of Sake as Masataka was the son of a Sake brewing family. We will then cross the seas to Scotland where Masataka went to further his knowledge of the industry. We will taste two recent bottlings from distilleries that Masataka worked as an apprentice: Longmorn & Hazelburn. 

Bringing his knowledge of distilling back to Japan where he helped pioneer the creation of Japan's first whisky distillery - Yamazaki - before making his dreams a reality and opening his own distillery. The whiskies on the night will be:

Longmorn

Hazelburn 13 Year Old Oloroso 

Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve

Miyagikyo Single Malt

Yoichi Single Malt

Nikka from the Barrel

Taketsuru Pure Malt

Taketsuru 17 Year Old
