Robert Parker | 2012 Vintage 90 Points. 'Charbonniere’s 2012 Vacqueyras is a beauty. Made from mostly Grenache, with a splash of Syrah, it offers impressive plum, licorice, blackberries and flowers on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless on the palate, I love the purity of fruit and seamlessness that comes through with time in the glass. Already hard to resist, drink it over the coming 5-6 years.' 2011 Vintage 88 Points. '…from the bottle, the 2011 Vacqueyras is rock solid in the vintage. Made from roughly 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that's aged in demi-muids, it gives up beautiful berry fruit intermixed with plenty of spice, earthy minerality and background meatiness on the nose. Medium-bodied, with a soft, textured and upfront feel, it makes the most of the vintage and should drink nicely over the next 3-5 years.' |
