Crafted from a wheat heavy Single Grain Irish whiskey, the spirit was initially matured for 6 years in first fill Bourbon casks from Kentucky, before spending a further 3 years finishing in Tequila casks from Jalisco. The result is a unique cross cultural expression, where Irish whiskey tradition meets vibrant agave influence.
Aged for 9 years, this release is named in honour of the Batallón de San Patricios, the group of largely Irish immigrants who fought alongside the Mexican army during the Mexican American War. It stands as a tribute to their story, bravery, and enduring legacy.
On the nose, expect a delicate floral character with fresh orange, bright citrus, and sweet agave notes. The palate delivers honeyed agave, gentle oak spice, and hints of vanilla and caramel, leading into a long, balanced finish with lingering sweetness, peppery spice, and citrus lift.
