he 2025 release of Bomberger’s PFG™ (Precision Fine Grain) marks an exciting new chapter for this celebrated Kentucky distillery. Crafted with meticulous care and innovation, this bourbon showcases an exceptional double maturation process that elevates every layer of flavour and aroma.
The journey begins with maturation in new toasted and charred American oak barrels, where the whiskey develops its rich colour and bold foundation. It is then transferred to a second set of custom French oak barrels, built to exact specifications using fine-grain oak from the legendary forests of Tronçais, Allier, Nevers, and Vosges. These staves are air-dried for over 40 months along the Charente River in France, allowing the local climate and natural microflora to impart subtle yet distinctive character.
Once the bourbon completes its secondary aging, it is bottled in small batches at 100.2 proof (50.1% ABV), following Bomberger’s signature precision filtration process. The result is a whiskey of remarkable balance, depth, and refinement.
