Teeling Innis and Gunn Stout Cask

70cl

A very interesting collaboration that was created by Teeling and the Edinburgh based Innis and Gunn brewery. Whiskey casks were sent by Teeling to Edinbrugh for ageing the brewery's stout named Kith and Kin. Once finished the barrels were used again by Teeling to age their own whiskey. This type of collaboration is becoming quite popular and we have really enjoyed stout aged whiskeys like this one.

Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green
Nose Fresh and light with some grainy/ale touches and hints of dark malt, chocolate and hops.
Palate Still very fresh and light but with a nice tannic backbone, some prickly hops, malted grains and biscuity notes. Above all, this is a drinking whiskey that doesn't get overpowered by the cask but gains something quite interesting along the way. We'd recommend a good pint of a mildly hoppy beer to partner with this.
