Luxardo Maraschino follows the original recipe from 1821 and requires four years to produce this specialty. Marasca cherries are harvested from Luxardo’s own trees and the solid components are then infused in larchwood. The product is distilled in small copper pot stills. Finally a combination of sugar and water is added before bottling.

FAQs
Luxardo is an Italian distillery founded in Zara, Dalmatia (now Zadar, Croatia), in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo. The family relocated to the Veneto region of Italy after World War II and now operates from Torreglia near Padua. Luxardo is most famous for its Maraschino Originale cherry liqueur, which uses Marasca cherries grown on the company's own orchards. A dedicated cherry sour gin expression from Luxardo draws on this heritage of cherry maceration and distillation.
