Tobermory

Tobermory is a small distillery that was founded in 1798. It was inactive through much of the 1900s until it was revived in 1972 by Domecq. Even since then it has been dormant for many years, mainly due to several changes in ownership. It is now owned by a company called Distell who bought out previous owners Burn Stewart. Like Springbank there are actually two different malts made in Tobermory. A standard malt named Tobermory and a peated malt named Ledaig. The distillery has four stills and is capable of producing 1,000,000 litres per year.
