This has to be one of the best value peated whiskies around. We were surprised how much this reminded us of Bowmore's Tempest when we tried it. There's obvious bourbon cask maturation here and of course plenty of peat smoke. This does taste quite youthful, and at full strength (46.3%) the alcohol adds to the power of the smoke. A little water brings out some nice lemony, honeyed notes and some creamy texture. We recommend trying it both ways. Either way we are sure you love it, providing you like smoky whiskies!
