Distilled in 2007, this double-distilled Irish single malt has spent eighteen years evolving through a carefully curated series of exceptional casks. The journey began in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, where the spirit developed a foundation of vanilla sweetness, honeyed malt, and fresh orchard fruits before being transferred to ex-Fino sherry butts in 2015.
In 2021, one of these mature ex-Fino sherry butts was divided between two ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks of different sizes 128 litres and 300 litres. This release comes from the smaller 128-litre cask, where the increased spirit-to-wood interaction intensified the influence of the rich PX sherry, creating an exceptionally concentrated and characterful whiskey.
The result is a luxurious single malt bursting with layers of dark fruits, treacle, figs, dates, and chocolate-covered raisins. The PX cask brings remarkable richness while preserving the elegance and balance developed during its long maturation.
