Redbreast’s Iberian Series celebrates the long standing sherry heritage of Gilbey’s, which has been importing fortified wines since the late 1800s. This series explores the influence of exceptional casks sourced from across the Iberian Peninsula, expanding the depth and complexity of Redbreast’s signature sherried style.
For this fifth release in the Iberian Series, Master Blender David McCabe travelled to southern Spain to source Moscatel wine casks from the hills of Málaga. Partnering with Bodegas Quitapenas, a family owned bodega established in 1880, these casks were selected for their distinctive aromatic profile and expressive sweetness.
The Moscatel wine is aged in American oak for 24 months before the casks are emptied and transported to Midleton Distillery. Here, Redbreast’s Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is finished in the Moscatel casks, allowing the floral and fruit driven character of the wine to integrate beautifully with the whiskey’s rich pot still style.
The result is an elegant and expressive whiskey, offering layered notes of pineapple, peach, honey, and gentle spice, all balanced by Redbreast’s trademark depth and complexity.
A standout addition to the Iberian Series and a must try for Redbreast fans and sherry cask enthusiasts alike.

No. Redbreast is a single pot still Irish whiskey, which is a distinct and specifically Irish style made from a mash of both malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton Distillery. Single malt uses 100% malted barley. The inclusion of unmalted barley in the mash bill gives Redbreast its characteristic creamy texture, spicy grain, green apple, and toasted cereal notes that single malt whiskeys do not produce. Single pot still is Ireland's most original contribution to world whiskey.

Redbreast is produced at Midleton Distillery, County Cork, by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. The Redbreast brand name dates to 1912, when W and A Gilbey wine merchants used it to label their allocation of pot still whiskey from the old Jameson Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. Irish Distillers acquired the brand in 1985. Today, Redbreast is distilled, matured, and bottled entirely at Midleton and is widely regarded as the finest expression of the single pot still style.
