Nose
Spicy, mature and intense on the nose. Notes of prunes, black cherries, all kinds of preserved fruits, orange peel, chocolate covered raisins, mace, cinnamon and cloves.
Palate
Powerful, rich and complex. Great mouthfeel and depth of flavour. Amazingly the oak isn't too forceful and the overall impression is one of richness and power in harmony. Flavours of dates, prunes and other dried fruits leading to chocolate caramels, mocha coffee, roasted spices and chicory.
Finish
Becomes drier with the oak adding a spicy and tannic flourish.

Redbreast 21 Year Old commands €200 to €280. The annual Redbreast Dream Cask and limited releases can command considerably more on the secondary market. As the benchmark Irish single pot still whiskey, the price at every tier reflects genuine quality and the most distinctive production style in the Irish category.
No. Redbreast is a single pot still Irish whiskey, which is a distinct and specifically Irish style made from a mash of both malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton Distillery. Single malt uses 100% malted barley. The inclusion of unmalted barley in the mash bill gives Redbreast its characteristic creamy texture, spicy grain, green apple, and toasted cereal notes that single malt whiskeys do not produce. Single pot still is Ireland's most original contribution to world whiskey.

Redbreast is produced at Midleton Distillery, County Cork, by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. The Redbreast brand name dates to 1912, when W and A Gilbey wine merchants used it to label their allocation of pot still whiskey from the old Jameson Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. Irish Distillers acquired the brand in 1985. Today, Redbreast is distilled, matured, and bottled entirely at Midleton and is widely regarded as the finest expression of the single pot still style.
