Domaine Didier Charavin Rasteau Prestige
From one of the best villages in the southern Rhone Valley, Domaine Charavin, found on the road to Vaison-la-Romaine, is run by the ambitious Didier Charavin. The estate has been family-run since the French Revolution. Made from a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre, this wine develops well in the glass to reveal flavours of plums and wild red fruits. The tannins are round and the finish is savoury and meaty. Excellent with rustic meat dishes. Try with roast saddle of hare with beetroot, shoulder of baby lamb with carrots, leeks and tomatoes or baked venison cutlets with juniper berries.
