Celtic Cask Daichead a Ceathair (44) 2014 PX Finish

Celtic Cask 44 was purchased in May 2014 and was triple distilled at a very old distillery in the north of Ireland. It was first matured in a French virgin oak cask that we sourced from  Ermitage Tonnellerie and was Bertranges Medium Toast. This was one of our first experiences with virgin oak and we kept a careful eye on the spirit as it took on lots of colour & flavours. In December 2021, we moved the whiskey to a 15 year-old Pedro Ximenez cask we’d sourced from Montilla.  We feel the mix of virgin oak & sweet pedro ximenez has created a rich, tasty whiskey and whilst younger than most Celtic Casks we felt it was ready to be enjoyed. It’s bottled at cask strength with no added colouring. Limited to just 185 bottles.
