Tullamore Dew 12 year Old Special Reserve
The whiskeys in the Tullamore Dew 12 Year Old Special Reserve have a very high concentration of pot still in addition to grain and malt whiskeys, triple distilled between 12 and 15 years ago from unmalted as well as malted barley. It is a very fine aged whiskey with more complexity coming from the additional aging. All the whiskies in the blend are matured in old Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, slowly reaching their perfection. The sherry cask finish gives a sweet nuttiness to the taste. It also has pleasant spicy back notes. On the nose, medium intensity, malty, spicy, toasted wood and vanilla notes. Complex flavours with sweet nuttiness, faint notes of Christmas cake and a hint of lemon. The palate is smooth and full with woody undertones, giving way to sweet oloroso and just a touch of spice. Pleasantly dry finish withslightly lemony and sweet notes lingering.

Serving Suggestion | The Montserrat This original Tullamore D.E.W. drink is part of the Old Fashioned family of cocktails. The natural spice notes in our whiskey work wonders with the addition of the bitters and apple juice. So every time you enjoy the spicy yet fruity simplicity of a Tullamore D.E.W. Montserrat, raise a glass to our Irish brothers in Montserrat and beyond. METHOD Muddle 1 brown sugar cube, a dash of bitters and a small amount of Tullamore D.E.W. in the bottom of a rocks glass. Fill glass with cubed ice and stir to dilute, adding 50ml Tullamore D.E.W. slowly. Add more ice as necessary, then add 25ml cloudy apple juice. Garnish with an orange twist. |
