Talisker 10 Year-Old

There is nothing quite like Talisker. It remains one of the most instantly recognisable Scottish single malts and has a very unique flavour. This was rightly chosen by Diageo to represent the Islands region in their Classic Malt range, however it has always been a popular whisky and is especially loved by blenders. To describe the flavour of the ten year old is rather difficult. It is certainly smoky, but not as reeky as most Islay malts. Then it has some sort of etheral peppery, spice and seaweed note that is very hard to fathom out. Other tasters have often described iodine, black pepper, Szechuan pepper and many different spices. These are all accurate descriptions but I am sure eveyone that tastes this gets something else. Once that spiciness dies down there's some pleasant toffee and dried fruit flavours. Definitely one of those whiskies that you have to try at least once.
