Fifty Pounds London Dry Gin
70cl
Named after a harsh tax law that was levied against gin distillers in 1736. Under this new law all gin distillers were required to pay a fee of fifty pounds, the producers were not happy and in six long years only two of them paid up! This gin is produced by Thames distillers using a recipe that dates back to those times. Quadruple distilled neutral spirit is used and the botanicals are steeped for 48 hours before being distilled again in a specialised 'John Dore' still.

Making Techniques | Using a batch process distillation to obtain the finest gin spirit with the optimum taste. The spirit is then thrice filtered, reducing any further impurities and achieving optimum smoothness. The resulting distillate is left to settle for no less than three weeks, allowing the botanical essential oils to blend perfectly with the grain spirit. |
