The revival of the Blue Spot marks the end of a 56 year wait since the last recorded bottling of the old Blue Spot in 1964. Building on the bourbon and sherry maturation the new Blue Spot also contains whiskey aged in carefully selected Madiera casks, made in a cooperage in the north of Portugal and then sent to the island of Madeira. Bottled at cask strength, with an annual changing of abv from batch to batch.

Taste
A smooth mouthfeel with a subtle mix of fruit, a hint of clove oil and cracked black pepper corns. Sweet spices, vanilla and cinnamon add to the wood’s nutty contribution.
Nose
A light mix of pineapple, kiwi, green banana and lime zest followed by Pot Still spices, baked apple, hazelnut and toasted wood.
Finish
A lasting and distinctly palatable balance of exotic fruits and spices.

It is a single pot still Irish whiskey made at Midleton Distillery, matured for between seven and ten years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The absence of a formal age statement gives the master blender flexibility to select the most expressive casks regardless of specific maturation period. Green Spot is one of the defining expressions of the single pot still style and has maintained exceptional quality consistency across multiple releases.

Green Spot is distilled at Midleton Distillery, County Cork, by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. The brand is owned and managed by Mitchell and Son Wine Merchants of Dublin, one of the oldest established wine and spirits merchants in Ireland, who have maintained the Green Spot brand since the 19th century when they originally used the label to identify maturing casks at the old Jameson Bow Street Distillery in Dublin.
