Speymalt Macallan 1973
Aged entirely in Sherry casks (1st fill and refill), this is classic old style Macallan with rich fruit cake, spicy oak and stewed prune flavours. The Speymalt range is a semi-official series of Macallan single malt from Gordon and Macphail bottlers. Compared to official bottlings these represent very good value for money.

Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green
Nose
Rich Sherry influences with stewed prunes, orange and hints of marzipan. A delicate beeswax polish note combines with charred oak aromas.
Palate
Black cracked pepper initially with grapefruit, ripe banana and orange flavours complemented by a dark chocolate edge. A delicate trace of clove spice is present.
