A rather stunning release on our hands here in the form of Kilcoman Sauternes Single Cask 44 2013. The whisky has been matured in a fresh bourbon barrel for over 7 years before being finished in a Sauternes wine cask for 6 months. Almost syrupy and oily with sweet and fruity notes and some musty peat smoke notes.
