FAQs
Yes. Belvedere is distilled from Dankowskie Gold Rye, a Polish heritage rye variety grown on estate farms in Mazovia, Poland. Although rye contains gluten, the quadruple distillation process removes gluten proteins to below detectable levels. Belvedere is certified gluten free and is considered safe for individuals with gluten intolerance. Individuals with clinically confirmed coeliac disease are advised to consult their medical advisor, as some choose to avoid all grain derived spirits regardless of distillation.
Yes. Belvedere is one of the most genuinely characterful premium vodkas available, made entirely from Dankowskie Gold Rye on estate farms in the Mazovia region of Poland. The single estate expressions, including Lake Bartężek and Smolary, demonstrate the impact of specific terroir on vodka character in a way that challenges the conventional view that vodka should be featureless. The standard Belvedere Vodka delivers a creamy, rye bread, vanilla, and subtle spice character that earns its premium price.
Belvedere is made from Dankowskie Gold Rye, a specific heritage rye variety cultivated on certified estate farms in the Mazovia region of central Poland. The rye is mashed, fermented using proprietary yeast strains, and distilled four times. The water used in production is drawn from an artesian well on the Belvedere estate. The combination of heritage rye grain, estate water, and four distillation passes produces the characteristic creamy texture, rye spice, vanilla, and soft grain profile that defines the brand.
Belvedere is produced at the Polmos Żyrardów distillery in Żyrardów, in the Mazovia region of central Poland. The distillery, which has operated since 1910, is one of Poland's oldest and most prestigious spirit production facilities. Belvedere takes its name from the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw, the official residence of the President of Poland. The single estate expressions in the range are produced from rye grown on specific named farms within the Mazovian agricultural region.
Belvedere Vodka is owned by LVMH, the French luxury goods conglomerate, which acquired the brand from Polmos Żyrardów in 2005. LVMH also owns Moët and Chandon, Hennessy, Dom Pérignon, Château d'Yquem, and Glenmorangie, among many other premium drinks brands. The LVMH ownership has provided the investment and global distribution infrastructure that established Belvedere as the benchmark premium Polish rye vodka internationally, though production and sourcing remain entirely in Poland.
