Waterford Single Farm Origin Lakefield 1.1
Following the dramatic success and sellout of the first commercial bottlings from Waterford Whisky, we are delighted to bring you the latest release, one of two new bottlings. Proudly utilising 100% demonstrably Irish-grown barley from one farm, one terroir, at a time.
Waterford Lakefield 1.1 is the first edition made using barely grown at the Lakefield Farm, east of Durrow, Co. Laois. Farmed by Seamus Duggan – winner of Waterford's Barley Grower of the Year Trophy for his 2019 barley crop. Derived from limestone & sandstone these well-drained, deep loam soils of the Elton series consistently produce exceptional barley quality. Limited Stock available.
Bottled at 50% ABV without colouring, chill-filtration or any additives.

Tasting Notes from Celtic Whiskey Shop and Wines on the Green | |
Nose | Warm custard, bread baking, red apple, milk chocolate, dried flowers, butter cream, pine needles. It reminds me of waiting to eat a rhubarb & apple tart fresh from the oven with custard & cream to hand. |
Palate | A gentle clove to start that leads into proving bread & malted biscuits, in the middle a pepperiness that travels back my tongue then honeydew melon & pears. |
Colour | Light gold with oils that grip & legs that slowly meander down the glass |
