Licor 43 Cuarenta Y Tres

Licor 43 uses a standard metal screw cap with an inner seal. If the cap is resistant, run warm water over the cap neck for 20 seconds to expand the metal and break any residue seal. Grip with a dry cloth for maximum torque and turn firmly anticlockwise. The bottle has no secondary cork beneath the cap. The distinctive ribbed bottle design can make grip challenging; a rubber bottle grip opener resolves this in seconds.

Licor 43, or Cuarenta y Tres, is a Spanish liqueur produced in Cartagena by the Diego Zamora Company, bottled at 31% ABV. It is made from a blend of 43 ingredients including citrus fruits, Mediterranean herbs, vanilla, and spices macerated in neutral spirit with added sugar. The resulting liqueur is straw yellow, intensely aromatic with vanilla, citrus, and warm spice, and is one of Spain's best selling spirits exports. It is most commonly served over ice with milk or as a cocktail modifier.
