Tomatin

Tomatin is a large distillery that at one time had the largest capacity of all Scottish malt distilleries. Previously it had 23 stills, and as far as we can tell it now has 12 stills. Production has decreased from a maximum of 12,000,000 litres per year and it now makes around 2,000,000 (although it has the capacity for up to 5,000,000). The distillery is owned Takara Shuzo and under their ownership we are starting to see some great releases from them. The distillery was founded in 1897 during the whisky boom.
