Château des Jacques Morgon

Château des Jacques Morgon is sourced from three renowned vineyards within the Morgon appellation: Côte du Py, Bellevue and Roche Noire, where Gamay thrives on the volcanic soils typical of the area: pink granite and the distinctive blue diorite. Hand-harvested grapes undergo a long, gentle maceration before ageing for 10 months in a combination of concrete tanks and French oak barrels. A small proportion of the barrels is new, the oak comes from the forests of Allier, Limousin and Nivernais.

Deeply coloured and expressive, the wine reveals aromas of violets, dark berries, graphite and subtle spices such as cinnamon. The palate is concentrated and structured, yet retains the supple texture and freshness characteristic of great Gamay. A wine of both power and elegance that will continue to develop complexity with bottle ageing.
